Project name : Mithi bridge

Location: Mumbai/India

Client: Mithi Nature Reserve

Collaboration with Cezary Bednarski and Schlaich Bergermann Partners

A single stretch of some 300-400m as a straight bridge we believe would be experienced by the users crossing it as relentless on the senses and boring to cross. This is why we sought a plan that would enliven the narrative of the experience and allow people to see the bridge from the bridge while crossing it. The bridge plan is thus dynamic and directional, like an arrow pointing to the marshes and wetlands Mithti environmental park. The proposed structure, developed with one of the world’s’ top bridge engineers is a cable suspension type and its geometry enables the suspension cables to act also as back stays for the bridge’s single mast.
