How do you transform an former airport into a 21st century linear park capable of delivering social, cultural, economic and ecological value ? Our proposal develops a radical and yet pragmatic strategy involving on site recycling most of the runway and hard standing areas into a new landform. In The construction of the new park will utilise cut and fill construction with the resulting void becoming water bodies. A new landform is constructed from the excavated runway material that will bury the other half of the runway, thus saving significant construction costs.
