Project name : Wenceslas Square

Location: Prague/CR

Client: Prague Municipality

The re-design of the longest town square in the world focuses on unifying its currently disparate public realm whilst re introducing trams and minimizing the impact of cars. The new design transforms substantive parts of the square into two new large pedestrian dominant gateway spaces connected by wide tree lined boulevards. The new Wenceslav Square presupposes the relocation of the existing orbital road in front of the National museum into an underground tunnel and thus removing a major severance to pedestrian focused cohesive place making.
